What Is Paramedical Tattooing?
Also known as medical tattooing, this type of cosmetic reconstruction is designed to improve the appearance of irreversible skin trauma— including surgical & traumatic scars, burn scars, stretch marks, post-inflammatory hypopigmentation, alopecia, and much more. These tattoos can take the form of scar camouflage, hair simulation, 3D areola reconstruction, etc.
For Liana, and many other artists like her, these procedures can often be an essential part of the healing process. It’s more than a confidence boost— these procedures can help patients feel at home once again in their own bodies, helping them overcome and move forward from life-altering, potentially traumatic experiences.

When asked about her favorite types of services, Liana emphatically declared that being able to work with and help out breast cancer survivors had her heart. The Journey To Fancy Shmancy PMU
Everyone starts somewhere. For Liana, that start was in aesthetics. Back in 2015, she was able to open her own clinic that offered nail and permanent makeup services. However, not only did Liana offer these services to clients, as a nail technician she also worked with students as a trainer. In particular, she specialized in working with single mothers, domestic abuse survivors, and other women in need of a fresh start.
And then COVID-19 hit. Like so many of us during and after the pandemic, Liana found herself needing to shift gears. And thus Fancy Shmancy transitioned into what it is today — a full service permanent make up and paramedical tattooing clinic.
Analyze: Training The Next Generation of Paramedical Tattooists
Over the years, Liana has skillfully honed her craft and expanded her portfolio— leading to various training companies looking to bring her on as an instructor.
After working with other paramedical training companies, she felt she had to create an organization that truly aligned with her values as a paramedical tattoo artist. One of her key pieces of advice is that in paramedical tattooing (like anything in life really), you should never stop growing— there is always something new to be learned, and ways to improve. With this philosophy in mind, her training academy, Analyze, was developed.
Liana is a certified Master Trainer in 3D Areola, Scar Camouflage, and Stretch Mark Camouflage in Illinois. Her training program offers in-person workshops and 1:1 online coaching.
