At Rejuvaskin, we understand that healthy skin goes beyond cosmetic concerns. We partner with organizations that work to help make a difference in our local and global community in an effort to bring awareness to initiatives across the globe. One non-profit we are proud to partner with is Burn Care International.
Who Is Burn Care International?
Burn Care International (BCI) provides care and facilities for burn victims in low-income countries that do not have access to the high-level burn relief care. BCI has clinics in Bolivia and Ethiopia and works to provide care in other countries as well.
What Does BCI Do?
In addition to running and maintaining clinics that provide care and rehabilitation for burn victims, BCI provides assistance to healthcare facilities and hospitals in those areas to duplicate their burn relief and care efforts. BCI can train staff on things like:
- Nutrition
- Physical Therapy
- Psychological Counseling
- Garment therapy
- Wound care for burns
Burn Care International In Tanzania
Most recently, BCI has led the charge on providing care to Tanzanian victims of a recent oil tanker explosion. BCI set up a relief program at the Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania after a large oil tanker exploded and killed over 100 people, leaving another 40 badly burned. BCI is currently trying to raise $15,000 via Go Fund Me to make this care possible, and they still have a long way to go. How Rejuvaskin Aims To Help
To support Burn Care International in their initiatives, we provide our Scar Heal products as a way to help burn victims diminish their burn scarring. Burn scars can have a lasting impact on people, especially children, and the use of a high-grade silicone scar cream and silicone scar sheeting can help diminish the appearance of their scarring.
We are proud to partner with an amazing organization like BCI that is working to change the lives of burn victims who might otherwise not have access to this quality and range of care. Their expertise and partnerships have allowed them to make a difference all over the world and we are so fortunate to have been given the chance to participate in such an amazing initiative.
